Cancer data bank
Cancer registries may be the only way of obtaining information on the burden, magnitude and patterns of breast cancer in specific regions or countries.. They can look at cancer rates in certain types of jobs, or see if cancer survival is improving. They can also watch cancer trends over time to find out if the rate of cancer is going up or down. They can also be used to keep an eye on which age and racial groups are most affected by cancer.

BACKGROUND AND MAGNITUDE OF THE PROBLEM
In Egypt, more than108,600 newly diagnosed patients with cancer per Year with a risk of more than 15.5% of getting cancer before age 75 and an estimated number of 72,300 patient Dying yearly which highlights the important burden that cancer exerts on the population.
The magnitude is not accurately known. And available statistics are hospital-based with incomplete coverage, In parallel to the increasing incidence rates, there has been a steady increase in cancer-related mortality each year: cancer-related diseases are now the second leading cause of death in Egypt, behind cardiovascular diseases.
There is no single full detailed cancer registry in Egypt that collects data on cancer in Egypt and despite this growing burden of  cancer in Egypt, it continues to receive low public health priority, not only because of limited resources but mainly due to a lack of awareness about the magnitude of the current and future cancer burden among healthcare providers, policy makers, the general public, and governmental health agencies. This is mainly attributed to the paucity of both hospital based and population based cancer registries.

OBJECTIVES
To reduce the incidence, morbidity, and mortality of cancer and to improve the quality of life of cancer patients through early diagnosis and treatmentand To understand the size and evolution of cancer burden in any specific community.
guide cancer prevention and control programs that are focused on changing certain behaviors and reducing other environmental risks and Identify the need for increased cancer screening in a certain region or area
To search for the etiological or causative agents, and establish appropriate interventions to prevent the cancers from developing
to plan epidemiologic research and cancer control.
Follow Up Treatment Outcomes In Relation With Different Drugs And Interventions
Evaluate current practices, set standards of future quality of care and enhance research initiatives.
